Managing Director
Years at Full Stacks: 7
Areas of Specialty: Strategy, Project Management, Copywriting
Laura Salter has been working in digital marketing since 2014, after graduating with a communications-focused Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta.
She started her career as an account manager at a local agency in Edmonton, learning the ins-and-outs of web design and brand work as she built relationships with her clients. With a passion for great writing and a knack for information architecture, she quickly grew into a copywriting and web strategy role.
Laura has always been interested in solving problems and finding creative solutions for improving processes, both in her life and at work. She kind of just fell into project management by accident as she began noticing which projects ran smoothly and which didn’t.
By the time she joined Full Stacks in 2019, Laura had led a number of website and marketing projects across industries for clients like Tourism Jasper, Explore Edmonton, Sunrise Soya, and lululemon.
Once joining the Full Stacks team as a strategist, Laura again found herself drawn to project management and operations. Full Stacks’s co-owners (Jen and Dana) gave her the support and space to dig in, and encouraged her to enroll in Louder than Ten’s Digital Project Management Fundamentals course. Over three months of weekly in-depth training, all her thoughts about how projects should run materialized into solid processes that she implemented, experimented with, and optimized alongside the Full Stacks team.
Laura now manages a lot of the backend of Full Stacks, including our project management systems (she’s a proud ClickUp “Power User”) and helps guide the team through tricky project issues. Over the past ten years she’s navigated through a lot of challenges and loves to share her mistakes and hard-earned learnings where she can. She also continues to work closely with clients on website projects, always focused on meeting their goals and needs while balancing scope and budget.
Laura feels lit up when she gets to smooth the way for herself or others while also keeping her silly sense of humour through the inevitable ups and downs of a day/week/month/year/century.
“Most of my days are spent problem solving and helping to move things forward. If I can successfully unblock a team member, provide an update to a client who is wondering how a project is going, and create a new automation to save everyone time, that’s a good day!”
In her personal life, Laura tries to balance out her most natural state of lazing on the couch by spending time on her hobbies (sewing, crafting, basketball, making and performing music, reading). She has a partner named Derrick and a dog named Winnie, who are both the loves of her life and bring her unreasonable amounts of joy.

“I had the pleasure of working closely with Laura and the Full Stacks team for nearly ten years during my time at SB Partners. From the moment Laura took over our account, I was struck by her ability to communicate complex digital strategies in a way that was clear and accessible even to those without a technical background. Laura led our organization through a full website rebuild, carefully balancing design, SEO, and user experience to ensure the site was intuitive for both existing clients and new prospects. She has a keen eye for identifying the right internal experts and bringing them into projects at exactly the right time.
Thanks to the new website, we saw ROI in under three months after acquiring a new client directly through the platform. Beyond her technical and strategic expertise, Laura brings emotional intelligence and a truly collaborative approach to everything she does. She is brilliant professional, leader of integrity and also just a wonderful human being. A true gem!”
