Graphic Designer
Years at Full Stacks: 11
Areas of Specialty: Web Design, Ad Design, Content Creation
Sarah Gardener got her start in marketing in 2014 in the Promotions and Marketing department of a local radio station in Edmonton. Drawn to the energy and creativity of broadcasting, she studied Radio and Television Arts at NAIT and dove headfirst into a career in radio.
Radio was fun, unpredictable, and full of opportunities to learn, from pulling off last-minute promotions to navigating big changes in the industry. It was also a lot of work with questionable glamour, which taught Sarah both grit and adaptability. Over the years, she honed her skills in promotions, content creation, and marketing strategy, always finding ways to make ideas happen.
After a decade in radio, Sarah was ready for a change and went back to school for graphic design, making a full career pivot into the creative world. It was during design school that she first discovered Full Stacks, and was instantly sold on the Gilmore Girls and Mean Girls quotes sprinkled across the website (so fetch!). Now a graphic and website designer on the team, she uses her creativity to craft visuals that help client brands shine. She’s also the go-to “Jane of all trades”—if you need something done, she’s the one to call—jumping in to help with content entry, troubleshooting, and whatever unexpected curveballs come along.
When asked what she loves most about her work, Sarah points to the variety, from crafting thoughtful brand identities to problem-solving behind the scenes, and the chance to collaborate with a team that values both great work and great humour.
Outside of work, Sarah splits her time between her incredibly vocal corgi, Moose, and her equally energetic niece and nephews. Moose is equal parts beloved companion and constant source of annoyance—she spends countless hours meal-prepping his weight-loss-friendly diet (despite a deep hatred for cooking), coaxing him onto paddleboards, and dragging him along on hikes, all in the name of keeping him happy. You’d think he’d appreciate the effort and finally chill, but no such luck. Barking is his full-time job, and business is booming.
Sarah proudly holds the title of World’s Best Auntie ™, a fact both she and her family consider beyond dispute. She shamelessly spoils her niece and nephews, thrives in her “favourite” status, and while there’s no official crown for the role, she’s more than happy to wear the imaginary one (and insists it looks fantastic on her).
When she’s not wrangling Moose or hanging with the kids, you’ll usually find her buried in a book (ideally one destined to become Reese Witherspoon’s next 10-part HBO series), bingeing a TV show, or catching the latest movie. Sarah takes her role as keeper of Full Stacks’s “911 Celebrity News” Slack channel very seriously, keeping the team up to date on the latest pop culture, royal family happenings, and celebrity trivia.
At the end of the day, Sarah’s goal is simple: make things look great, work smoothly, and keep everyone laughing along the way.
“Having someone like Sarah on your team is a huge gift. Her ability to read through the lines on vague design projects and deliver awesome results that always feel genuinely on brand is incredible. And she’s fast! In Texas, we would call her a gunslinger cause she’s so quick on the draw ✍️”
